With years of experience in a variety of project management contexts, I have solved some of the most troublesome risks that beset projects of all sizes and degrees of complexity.
Currently, I am working on a new methodology that addresses the disconnect between IT's potential to revolutionize education, and its less than spectacular success thus far. (IT has enabled an impressively large online education industry but has not impacted education quality and costs the way it has impacted so much of the world of business and manufacturing.)
But IT and education is a long-term endeavor, beset by politics, public opinion, and uncertainties. Hence, I am always interested in possible contract engagements with projects that require creative, informed analysis combined with robust, reliable planning and management. If your project, or contemplated project, feels risky or insufficiently clear in terms of expected outcomes, I would be pleased to discuss whether, and how, I could be of service.
Whether I manage the entire project, or some part of a larger project, I will gain a thorough understanding of the current “what is” state and the desired “what will be” state
Example case studies are listed on this site to give an idea of the range of projects I can undertake.
I have written and edited user manuals, procedures documentation, and technical documentation. Good documentation is a key element in most well-run projects: It's not just a matter of producing manuals; the crucial process of linking user requirements and expectations with technical and programming expertise requires well designed and executed documentation. Because I know how to do that work myself, I can effectively lead and manage that function as a key part of successful project management.
